April 2020 General Meeting Minutes

Minutes of General Board Meeting
Orlando Modern Quilt Guild
April 1, 2020


Meeting was opened at 10:05 am   
President Ede Nault opened the meeting and welcomed everyone on the Zoom virtual format 

President – Ede Nault 

Ede welcomed everyone, expressing concern that all members were doing well during the current Covid -19 Pandemic as we all are on lockdown and social distancing. She thanked everyone for joining the virtual meeting and explained the format for the meeting, and Zoom protocols .  

The fabric sale has been postphoned for now.

The general meeting will also be canceled for May 2020. 

If anyone would like to do a virtual sewing room; the board is investigating opportunities to keep members connected. 
Please send in sewing room videos to Ede , with sound         

Vice President – Debra Jalbert 

Yanick mentioned for everyone to turn the mute on when in the virtual meeting room. 
The BOMN is a more challenging block this month, it should be made in spring colors, the instructions are posted on the blog.
Debra reported that Debby Manuel is chairing the “It’s a Wrap” UFO challenge for the year, and that a number will be announced soon.
The Mystery Quilt and It’s a Wrap can still be joined by members 

Treasurer- Kathy Aber, no report 

Secretary -Paula Kennedy 

Please send photos of Show & Tell to Paula, they will be put into a slide show for a virtual Show & Tell for May meeting. 

Community Outreach – Sue Kenard 
Masks – Sue asked everyone to keep track of masks they are making, whether for family, neighbors, or donations, so the information can be used for a report at the end of the year. She mentioned the Waterman Orlando Heath is still finalizing guidelines for dropping off masks. 
She thanked members and asked them to keep making masks!

Education- Marge Cree 
Timna Tarr class has been canceled for April 25th,

Marge confirmed Jacqie Gerhing for January 2021


Member at Large- Love Sullivan, no report
