Our Mission Statement:

The Orlando Modern Quilt Guild, a Chapter of the Modern Quilt Guild, is a non-profit organization formed to:
  • inspire and support our members in their enjoyment of and growth in quilt making;
  • educate our members with an emphasis on the modern aesthetic through programs and activities;
  • promote an interest in and appreciation of the art of quilt making, especially in a no rules modern approach to fabric arts;
  • assist our community by creating quilts and other fabric projects for those in need.

Can I join if I do not live in Orlando?
Of course you can! We have members from the Central Florida area including Orlando, Maitland, Lake Mary, Winter Springs, Deland, etc. as well as members from out of state.

Where and when do you meet?
We typically meet the first Wednesday of the month at The Sewing Studio in Maitland from 10am-12pm.   Check our Calendar tab for specific dates.

Can I attend a meeting before joining?
Of course! We love to welcome guests to visit us.  Currently, we have around 100 members.  A typical meeting will draw about 50-60 people.

Is there a membership fee to join?
Yes. Our dues for 2022-2023 are $55.00.

What type of workshops does your guild offer?
We have been fortunate to host some amazingly creative and talented teachers including Carolyn Friedlander, Victoria Findlay Wolfe, Jacquie Gering, Lee Monroe, Mary Sorensen, Amanda Leins, Tonya Ricucci, Frank Palmer, Carole Lyles Shaw, Shannon Brinkley, and Amanda Jean Nyberg,

Do I have to participate in all the Community Outreach projects?
Details of our current Community Outreach projects are on the blog. While we pride ourselves on the contributions we make as a Guild to our community, participation is completely voluntary.  We understand that some members have more quilting time than others, and that we each contribute to the community and important causes in our own way.
