Can I join if I do not live in Orlando?

Of course you can!  We have members from the Central Florida area including Orlando, Maitland, Lake Mary, Winter Springs, Deland, etc. as well as members from out of state.

Where and when do you meet?

We typically meet the first Wednesday of the month at The Sewing Studio in Maitland from 10am-12pm.  We understand that weekdays are difficult for some members, so we also offer monthly Sew Days on a Sunday in Oviedo and monthly Sew Days on a Monday at the Maitland Public Library.  Check our Calendar tab for specific dates.

Can I attend a meeting before joining?

Of course!  We love to welcome guests to our meetings.  It's a great way to see what we are all about.

How large is your guild?

Currently, we have around 100 members.  A typical meeting will draw about 50-60 people.

Is there a membership fee to join?

Yes.  Our annual dues are $55 which goes towards our MQG membership, covering the costs of amazing teachers and workshops, and other business expenses.

What type of workshops does your guild offer?

We have been fortunate to host some amazingly creative and talented teachers including Carolyn Friedlander, Victoria Findlay Wolfe, Jacquie Gering, Lee Monroe, Mary Sorensen, Amanda Leins, Tonya Ricucci, Frank Palmer, Carole Lyles Shaw, Shannon Brinkley, and Amanda Jean Nyberg .

Please contact us at orlandomodernquiltguild@gmail.com if you have any other questions not answered here.

Do I have to participate in all the Community Outreach projects?

Details of our current Community Outreach projects can be found here.  While we pride ourselves on the contributions we make as a guild to our community, participation is completely voluntary.  We understand that some members have more quilting time than others, and that we each contribute to the community and important causes in our own way.
