January BOM - Almost an Echo!

January BOM – Almost an Echo! by Wendy Yates
This block was inspired by a pin on Pinterest . When the blocks are put together they will make a secondary design when rotated. Use white as the background and 4 different bright solids as the color choices. 


From background fabric cut:
3 – 2 ½” x 2 ½” squares
2 – 2 ½” x 4 ½” rectangles
2 – 2 ½” x 6 ½” rectangles
1 – 2 ½” x 10 ½” rectangle
1 – 2 ½” x 12 ½” rectangle


From each of four different colors cut:
1 – 2 ½” x 2 ½” square
1 – 2 ½” x 4 ½” rectangle


Sew together one 2 ½” background square and one 2 ½” color square
Press seam open.
Sew 2 ½” x 4 ½” color rectangle onto side – diagram 1.  Press seam open.



Sew together one 2 ½” background square and one 2 ½” color square (2), press seams open.
Sew one 2 ½” background square and one 2 ½” x 4 ½” color rectangle together (2), press seams open.
Sew onto previous block.



Sew together one 2 ½” x 4 ½” background rectangle and one 2 ½” color square (4), press seams open.
Sew one 2 ½” x 4 ½” background rectangle and one 2 ½” x 4 ½” color rectangle together (4), press seams open.
Sew onto previous block.



Sew together one 2 ½” x 6 ½” background rectangle and one 2 ½” color square (6), press seams open.
Sew one 2 ½” x 6 ½” background rectangle and one 2 ½” x 4 ½” color rectangle together (6), press seams open.
Sew onto previous block,  press seams open.


Finally sew on one 2 ½” x 10 ½” background rectangle and one 2 ½” x 12 ½” background rectangle onto the block. 
Final block is 12 ½” x 12 ½” unfinished.
