DECEMBER 3, 2014
MAITLAND, FL

The meeting was called to order by President Yanick.  29 members and 2 guests were present.

TREASURER'S REPORT

RAFFLE BASKET
The fabric-rich basket was won by Debra (and her lucky sister!)
 UPCOMING EVENTS
Cara asked that she be notified of all completed UFOs by the end of the day (Dec 3.)  A drawing will be held and prize awarded at our holiday party on Dec 20.  A new UFO challenge, headed by Kelly, will be coming in 2015!
The guild will be making another field trip to the Suwanee Valley Quilt Shop in Trenton on Feb 7.  There are many other shops in Trenton as well, including antiques and cross-stitch.  More details to follow.

OMQG purchased an ad in the Space Coast quilters program for their bi-annual show, which takes place Feb 13 and 14 in Titusville.  Deadline to enter the show is Jan 16.

Florida Cabin Fever quilters also have an upcoming show on Jan 23 and 24.  Submissions will be accepted until Dec. 7.

ELECTION PROCESS COMMITTEE
Zonetta updated the group on the committee's progress.  If you are interested in running for a board position, please review the positions available and their responsibilities on the OMQG website under the "about us" tab.  The deadline to become a nominee is Jan 7.  All nominees will be asked to introduce themselves at our Jan meeting.  Voting will take place at our Feb meeting, by written ballot, and new officers will be announced at the end of that meeting.  Absentee ballots will be available via email from Jan 26-Feb 2 (dates approximate).  Email Karol or Julia to get an absentee ballot.
CHARITY PROJECTS
Linda will continue to accept quilts for the veteran's home until February.  Dimensions should be between 48-50 x 60-70 inches.  They can be red, white, and blue, but don't have to be.  Masculine colors are preferred but we do want to make sure the few women there also have appropriate quilts.  Debra needs some more 10in red, white, and blue blocks to complete the quilt she is making with the donated blocks; please email her if you have some, or can make some for her.

Our projects for Days for Girls are also ongoing.  Sharleen has fabric for the liners; contact her to get some.

Our quilt at OMA's Festival of Trees was seen by over 32,000 people!

Marge displayed the finished top for our Quiltcon challenge quilt.

BLOCK OF THE MONTH
This month's blocks......
....were won by Yanick!

Instructions for January's block are posted on our blog.

HOLIDAY PARTY
Our guild holiday party will be held on Dec 20, from 10-4:30 at the Dr Phillips Library (Southwest Branch).
Please bring a potluck dish to share, and any sewing projects you wish to work on.  We will have a gift exchange featuring mini-quilts (example shown below.)  Quilts should not be bigger than 18" on any side; participation is optional. Please bring your quilt in a brown paper or gift bag.
SALON
The next Modern Quilting Salon will be held on Dec 11 from 6-8 pm at the Bernina Sewing Center in Lake Mary.  Bring an example of your favorite style of modern quilting.  This may be the last salon to be held for a while, due to conflicts with the space, and Yanick's schedule, so come while you can!

DOOR PRIZE
....was won by Susan.

SHOW AND TELL
 WISH I HAD MADE THAT
...was won by Sharleen!

Lunch at Brio followed the meeting.

And even Republicans in the Senate said they didn’t look on Joyce ’s gift as a problem, soldes salomon chaussure  but as part of the chamber’s long tradition of giving gifts that showcase their districts. Senator Donald Humason, chaussure salomon pas cher  Republican of Westfield, called Joyce’s sunglasses “quite a cool gift,” and said they were given in the same spirit as the riding crops from a Salomon Speedcross 3 Pas Cher Westfield-based whip company that Humason gave to colleagues.
