Sew Day, January 18, 2014

Another great Sew Day.  We had lots of happy people attend.

And between all the chatter and coffee and food consumption...

...there were many projects in the works.

To sum it up:  Good company, food and fun.

Giveaway!

Hello OMQG members! How about a little giveaway to celebrate our membership to The Modern Quilt Guild? We would also like to encourage readership of our blog. Take a look around; there are some great blog posts, tips and tricks, links to fun tutorials, charity project information, blocks of the month, etc. Leave a comment and get in on the conversation.  If you would like to get e-mail notifications when there is a new blog post, you can enter your e-mail address over there at the top. --------->

Back to the giveway. Up for grabs is an official OMQG canvas tote bag. You'll receive a brand spanking new bag (bling not included). Even if you have one of these bags, they make great gifts or give you another place to store unfinished projects. :)

This giveaway is open to all Orlando Modern Quilt Guild members. To enter, just leave a comment below. If you aren't a registered Blogger user (Anonymous), leave your name or e-mail in the comment so we'll know who you are. We'll have a random drawing next weekend to pick a winner, so leave your comment before Saturday, January 18, 2014. Good luck!

February Block of the Month

Beth made samples of February's scrappy trip around the world block.  The tutorial is by Bonnie Hunter and can be found here.  There are so many "Scrappy Tripalong Quilts" that can be found all over Instagram, Flickr and Pinterest for inspiration.  This quilt pinned on our Pinterest board is a very pretty example.

Blocks should measure 12.5" square to finish at 12" and can be made with any of your modern fabrics.  Bring your block(s) to February's guild meeting for a chance to win them all.  Have fun!
