May Meeting with guest Juanita Yeager

Today our third guild meeting featured art quilter Juanita Yeager.   In addition to presenting a slide show of her awesome quilts, Juanita actually brought quite a few of her quilts for us to see up close and personal.  She even let us touch them!!!  Juanita was very generous of her time and enthusiastically explained her process and patiently answered our questions.  Her easy going personality and warm nature made for a fun time for everyone.

Seeing her quilts online does not prepare one for the intense color, fabulous texture and natural movement evident when seeing them in real life.  Of course, my photographs will not do them justice either, but they will give you an idea of the amazing art we viewed today.  More photos from today's meeting are on our Flickr page.

Below is my personal favorite.

This one is gorgeous as well.

I love how she signs each quilt.

We had fourteen attend this third meeting including some newcomers!

It is so exciting to see the enthusiasm of our members and witness our guild's growth.  If you are in our area, won't you join us?

Our next get together is Saturday, May 15 for Sew Day at the Southwest Branch of the Orlando Public Library from 10am -4:45pm.  Details are on the website.  See you there!
