July 7 OMQG Meeting Minutes
Ede covered a couple of important issues:
· Next meeting is August 11 in person at the Sewing Studio
o Please email the Guild at Orlandomodernquiltguild@gmail.com to let us know if you plan to come
o Masks are required
o Reminder that no food or beverages allowed at the Sewing Studio
· Maitland Library sew days are resuming August 9
o Bring a mask in case it’s needed
Daisy Aschehoug of Warm Folk presented a great overview of her quilting evolution and design process
Marge gave an update on Jacquie Gering class
· Will be held at Maitland Community Center
· Sign-ups available until August 15; after that will be open to the public
· 20 people per class per day
· $80 per class – send check to Kathy Aber or via Paypal
· Two classes:
o Sept 24, 10am to 4pm - Improv and walking foot class
o Sept 25, noon to 6pm - sashiko-inspired class
Marge gave an update on the Retreat
· Sign-ups proceeding nicely – make sure to get signed up soon if you want to attend
· Will set up a zoom meeting in August for those who volunteered to help
Ede talked about August meeting “scrap-a-palooza”
· Bring gallon-sized baggie of scraps – can be themed or not!
Ede solicited for help with open positions
· Aradria has had to resign as social media and library chair
· Can be two separate positions – please let Ede know if you can volunteer
